Plenty! Between Waialua and Haleiwa, you have everything from Thai to poke to pizza and more. There are a lot of vegan and veggie options and two health food stores for organic snacks and goodies.
Entering the ocean is always done at one's own risk. If you or your kids are not strong swimmers, we advise appropriate floating devices. That said, the outer reef protects the beach and the immediate ocean from large swells and currents. For most adults, the water is shallow enough to stand almost all the way to the outer reef. There are coral heads and occasionally urchins in the reef so be careful where you step. This is one of the safest beaches on the North Shore to swim and play. Enjoy the turtles, but don't touch them!
Yes, we require a lease and a deposit for all bookings. This is all taken care of through the booking platform. Bookings are subject to a minimum amount of days due to Hawaii law.
Reef safe sunscreen, reusable water bottles, flip-flops, sneakers, toiletries, light clothing, hats, a sweater, and a great book. We have communal beach chairs, umbrellas, and coolers so you can maximize your beach day fun. Anything you forgot can usually be found close by in Haleiwa where there is a large pharmacy and plenty of shops.
One block! It only takes a couple minutes of walking and you're at Aweoweo beach park.
We have smart lock keypads on the doors so you don't have to keep track of keys. We have a backup lockbox with keys in case the door keypad gives you any trouble. You'll receive check-in instructions before arrival with all the info for your unit.
Absolutely! There are a bunch of hiking trails nearby, I suggest using the Alltrails app. Haleiwa Town has shops and restaurants, as well as amazing farmer's markets in the neighborhood. You can check out great donation-based yoga classes at Farm to Barn and Pilates at the. There are tours and cultural history sites to explore. Waimea valley botanical garden and luau is a must!
Yes! There are many surf school options, but we prefer North Shore Beach Boyz. 15 minutes away is Pua'ena point, where the lessons usually take place. We have a couple of soft tops at the house free for guests to use.
If you are planning to see the island and get around, absolutely! Oahu does not have much public transportation and ubers are sparse on the north shore. We are walking distance to the beach and a longer walk to a roadside food stand, food trucks, and small health food market in Waialua. So you can get by without a car if need be!
Yes! Each unit has its own designated mailbox.
Our low-season months are April, May, and Sept. The summer is busy with divers and vacationers while the winter is popular due to world-class waves and contests. In between, you'll find the beach less busy, the waves uncrowded, and the vibe super relaxed.
Care for the ocean and the ocean will care for you.
